Leslie Frohberg
Creative Education Consultant
Leslie Frohberg is the Creative Educational Consultant for Third Act Development. She is a seasoned and versatile professional with over 40 years of experience in youth and educational programs, community services, and special projects.
Leslie began her career in education and development as a Child Care Worker at Graham Home for Children. Shortly after, she was asked to become the acting Assistant Director of the Youth Development Center run by Yonkers Community Action Program and then was quickly promoted to Director. Leslie continued to follow her passion for education and community betterment. She held directorial and operational positions in several city and state programs to improve childhood development, conflict resolution, and creative and recreational counseling. She held tenure at many notable institutions, including Youth Coordinator and Advisor for the Riverbay Corporation Council and Board of Directors, Youth Coordinator for Community Board 5 in Ridgewood, Queens acting as a liaison between the New York City Department of Youth Services the Community Board and the Community-based organizations, and The Gloria Wise Boy’s & Girls Club, developing and implementing multiservice teen programs in Co-op City. Many of which utilized artistic expression to aid in childhood development, included The Theatre Workshops that produced musical plays, an area that Leslie holds dear to her heart being an active member of the Screen Actors Guild/American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG/AFTRA).
She was soon sought after as a Program Coordinator for Adolescent & Family Comprehensive Services in The Bronx, working diligently to help incorporate the CBAPP curriculum into the schools and CBO Administrators, solidifying her well-established role as an authority in the educational, administrative, and artistic childhood development expert within the community.
In 2001 she was hired as the Program Director of the Northeast Bronx Cultural Center for the Riverbay Corporation in Co-op City; where she planned, coordinated, and implemented multicultural events for 60,000 resident housing complexes. Produced musical shows, semi-annual community fairs, and firework concerts, wrote proposals and grants, she also used her seasoned skills to direct staff and volunteers in multi-cultural events and networked with intergovernmental and community-based agencies to maximize services to seniors, youth, and community.
In recent years, Leslie has focused on civil service for the community, starting as a Community Liaison for Senator Hassell-Thompson as an assistant, helping constituents with various issues relating to housing and social services and helping plan and represent at the senator’s events. She held a Senior Liaison position to Senator Jamaal T. Bailey District Office Senior Liaison as well. Helping with Community Senior Centers and serving as a resource, provided technical assistance and consultation to community groups.
Leslie continues to represent her community as a Monitor and Coordinator for the Bronx Board of Elections and as a community responders’ representative for the Census.
Leslie is an alum of the Herbert H. Lehman College in the Bronx, New York with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in African/African American Studies.
