Donna Drayton

Director of Operations

Donna Drayton is the Director of Operations and a key member of Third Act Development Consultancy Firm. She played an indelible role within New York’s City and State government for over 40 years and was a fervent advocate for women and minority rights over her long and distinguished career.

Ms. Drayton has spent most of her career in the civil service of her community. In 1985 she started at the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, 7a Counseling and Assistance Unit as a Property Manager. Upon her departure from the Agency, she was the Supervisor of the Manhattan Division. Utilizing her knowledge of housing and property management, she went on to the nonprofit sector and was employed as the Facility Manager over all commercial properties, headquarters, and training facility for the South Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation.

Introduced to politics by her mother, Teresena W. Bryant, at the young age of 15, Donna was raised amongst community campaigns, elected officials, and political and community events where she was taught the intricacies of campaign development, petitioning, canvassing, soliciting, and educating volunteers, and election day operations. She served as the Bronx African American Community Coordinator for the Mondale-Ferrer Presidential Campaign and worked for the campaigns of former Bronx District Attorney Robert Johnson and Manhattan Borough President C. Virginia Fields; the late New York Senator Joseph Galiber and former New York Senator Ruth Hassell-Thompson. Ms. Drayton’s political roles have included serving as Area Coordinator and Economic Policy Analyst, specializing in housing, banking, workforce development, and minority & women-owned businesses.

Donna currently serves as a Board Member of NCNW Child Care Center (Chair of the Facility and Labor Committees); Member/Parliamentarian of the North Bronx Section of the National Council of Negro Women and the North Atlantic Regional Conference New York State Connection and Social Action Coordinator. She attended Saint Augustine College now known as Saint Augustine University, in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she majored in Psychology.

Ms. Drayton resides in the Bronx and is an active member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. North Atlantic, Eta Omega Omega Chapter (Bronx), where she has served as the Connection Chairman from 2013-2022.
