Clarence Stanley

Financial Management Consultant

Clarence Stanley is a Third Act Developments Financial Management Consultant. He joins us with over 50 years of experience in finance and banking. He has spent his career helping small businesses develop and making a difference in our community.

Clarence started his career in finance at Meller & Company, Inc., a member firm of NYSE, where he worked as a Financial Analyst and Account Executive. He prepared financial analysis reports for the firm and its clients. He worked with the firm's underwriting department on initial public offerings. He joined Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner & Smith as an Account Executive and Registered Representative in 1970, where he developed and managed a client base of over 300 clients.

He joined First National City Bank, now Citibank, in 1973, as a Branch Manager in the Bronx and Southern Westchester region. As a Branch Manager, he made the bank's President’s Club, the top 10% performers, for six consecutive years. He later became a Business Banker/Relationship Manager, where he helped small businesses start and grow by providing them with access to capital and other bank services and programs. During this period, he was actively involved in government and community affairs, as part of the bank’s community outreach program.

After retiring from Citibank in 2000, he joined Lehman College as the Regional Director of the Bronx Small Business Development Center. As Director of the SBDC, he was responsible for developing and managing programs to help small businesses with counseling, training, and providing them with access to capital. The program covered the Bronx, Upper Manhattan, and Southern Westchester. During this period the Bronx SBDC counseled and trained over 50,000 clients – with economic impact in excess of $140 million.

Clarence resides in the city of New Rochelle where he is a member of the New Rochelle Board of Assessment Review (BAR) and is also on the Veteran Advisory Committee. He also serves as Chairman of the Bronx Economic Development Corporation. He is active with the Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce and was formerly Chair of the Education Opportunity Center in Yonkers.

Mr. Stanley received his MBA in Finance and Economics from Long Island University and a BBA in Marketing & Business from Bernard Baruch College.
